My (not really) Glorious Return to Yoga

We have been going to Bally’s (now LA Fitness) gym for almost two years now. We started out at the King of Prussia gym and after moving to Glenside, we switched to the Wyncote gym. I used to attend a number of different classes at Work Out World,  but never really got into them at Bally. Since we joined I have tried out a few of the classes, but either I wasn’t in love with the trainer (weirdest Pilates class ever!), wasn’t in love with the class or it wasn’t scheduled at a convenient time. A few weeks ago I decided to get over the times the classes are scheduled and try some of the classes again.

I have gone to the Wednesday night yoga class at LA Fitness for the last few weeks and while I find that it could be more challenging, it is a fun class and I think just enough of a workout for Wednesday, which is usually our night off from working out.

In the past, most of the yoga classes I have taken haven’t been a pure yoga class. The one that I used to go to regularly at Work Out World was called Centergy and was a mix of Tai Chi, Pilates and Yoga. In my opinion it really had the best of all three practices combined into one class. You got a good workout in and your heart rate up, but you also had the calming effects of a yoga class.

The class at LA Fitness is a lot more about calming, mild stretching and focusing on your breathing, but I really like the instructor and figure I will stick with it for a while before I make a decision about possibly looking for a yoga class outside of LA Fitness!
